To be honest, I don't know how to write an "about me" page. The trajectory of this blog has been affected just because I don't know how to express who I am. Now that may be a red flag on my part of not knowing who I am, but to be quite honest, does any of us know who we are? Do you know who you are? I feel like this would be a good time to cue “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson.

My name is Emerald Bobb-Semple. Yes, my name is hyphenated; incredible, I know. Born to Guyanese parents who immigrated to the United States before reaching adulthood, I am a first-generation Guyanese-American, just trying to navigate adulthood while discovering who I am.

It's hard. it is annoying, it's aggravating. But, it’s worth it.

As a recent college graduate who is in graduate school, comparison and uncertainty are two of the common feelings I have dealt with since becoming an adult and you know, it's ok.

it's ok to feel anxious, it's okay to be very about the future. it's normal.

​

But now the trick is how to overcome and realize my own special path. Learning about my strengths and weaknesses, what makes me happy and what brings me peace have become my top priority in this new stage of my life. So here we are. This blog is dedicated to the things I love and the things I’ve learned on this path of adulthood. Is this journey going to be easy? HAA!!! It's won't.
